The second edition of the European Festival of woman creators, Womanim, will be held in November. On the agenda? Expo, workshops, screening, and more…

From November 3rd to 30th 2020, Greater Angouleme is organizing the second edition of WomAnim, a European festival of women creators, in partnership with the International Comics and Visual Arts Center, the Pole Image Magelis, the City of Angouleme, and the European Higher School of Image. Womanim is an event organised as part of the European WOMARTS project whose aim is to support the feminin creators.

WomAnim it’s four major activities, in November :

  • The “invisible” exhibition will be set up in the New Factory from November 5th to 30th (54 transmedia works, including 20 comic strips, created by 32 female artists from 10 nationalities on the theme “the 2nd sex” by Simone de Beauvoir.
  • Dance workshops. 5 workshops will be led by Cléa Hourant. Open to all, the workshops will take place within the exhibition free of charge.
  • A day of animated film screenings on November 30th in the Nemo Room of CIBDI. (2 sessions for schoolchildren, one short film session, 1 work in progress, 1 round table, and preview).
  • Entrepreneurship training workshops for designers. Online or in presentations, these workshops will be led by the network Les Premières de Nouvelle-Aquitaine (Firsts of New Aquitaine).
